This Month's Study topic is Mary, Our Mother as the first Tabernacle

In a popular Litany for Our Lady we pray to Mary under several titles including; House of Gold, Mother of God, Spiritual Vessel,  Vessel of Honor, Singular Vessel of Devotion, and Ark of the Covenant. These titles all refer to Mary's role as the Mother God. It was in her womb that by the Holy Spirit Jesus Christ was conceived and born into the world. Therefore, her very body carried God within it for 9 months. She is truly the Ark of the Covenant in human form. A living, breathing Ark.

In the Old Testament we read about the original Ark which God commissioned Moses to construct. Within in the Ark was placed the 10 Commandments, the Rod of Aaron, and some Manna. The Holy Spirit dwelt above the Ark in a cloud of Glory. Upon the top of the Ark were 2 Cherubim and the Mercy Seat. For the Isrealites this was the very resting place of God on earth. This was where God meet His people in a special way. These Old Testament writings were a prefigurment of what was to come with Mary and Jesus.

This month we will look into Mary, the original Tabernacle of God, the devotion and adoration Mary had for her Son, Jesus, and her role as a guide for us. Mary will lead us closer to Jesus if we allow her and ask her. During this month of May we celebrate our Mothers. We thought it would be nice to also celebrate Mary, Our Mother and the Mother of God.
